The EU’s financial framework: the groundwork has been laid

The EU’s proposed multi-annual budget for 2024-2034 is already causing tension and concern within the cultural sector, not least because of the unclear division of competences and planned changes to the MEDIA+ program.

In July, the European Commission presented its proposal for the EU’s multi-annual budget for the period 2024-2034. This exercise is always the subject of tense discussions between institutions, and this one will be no exception, as we explained here. The various sectors involved will not fail to offer their criticism or praise, and attempt to influence parliamentarians.
