Better law-making: the European Parliament in search of a healing narrative
The « better law-making » report adopted yesterday by the European Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee seems less like a turning point than an attempt at narrative de-escalation. The Parliament is seeking to respond to growing frustration with European institutions, without going so far as to take the politically costly action that would be necessary: freezing new initiatives and seriously evaluating existing ones.
