Pending the outcome of its substantive investigation, Brussels is ordering Meta to reopen WhatsApp to AI assistants competing with Meta AI. On Monday, the European Commission adopted a decision that is extremely rare in its competition arsenal. As part of its investigation into Meta’s practices regarding WhatsApp and artificial intelligence, Brussels has ordered the U.S. company to restore access to its messaging service for competing AI assistants within five business days.
