Supercomputers: Bull Tops the Green500, but the Race for LLMs Follows Different Rules

Bull once again has three systems at the top of the Green500 and, with JUPITER, retains the title of Europe’s most powerful supercomputer. This is a genuine industrial achievement, but it does not fully reflect the company’s ability to develop the most advanced AI models.

Bull announced today that, for the second consecutive year, its systems have secured the top three spots on the Green500, the global ranking of the most energy-efficient supercomputers. The company also reports that 59 of its systems are listed in the TOP500, the ranking of the world’s most powerful supercomputers, while JUPITER retains its status as Europe’s most powerful supercomputer and climbs to fifth place globally.
