French press publishers intend to negotiate with Open AI, and other generative AI developers, as early as 2024. Le Monde is going it alone for the time being. Last December, Open AI announced that it had signed an agreement with international press publisher Axel Springer, which should generate remuneration of several tens of millions of euros in year one, in exchange for providing recent articles to feed ChatGPT.
