DSA’s first Code of Conduct deals with illegal hate content
At a time when many elected representatives and public figures are talking about the scourge of misinformation, the European Commission is turning the spotlight on online hate content. The very first Code of Conduct adopted under Article 45 of the Digital Services Act focuses on the fight against illegal hate on platforms. All the major networks, including X and Meta, already adhere to the voluntary Code signed in 2016, from which this new Code of Conduct is derived.
The European Commission and the European Digital Services Committee today announced the incorporation into the Digital Services Act (DSA) of the « Revised Code of Practice on Combating Illegal Online Hate Speech ».
