At Donald Rump’s ‘super-intelligence’ roundtable, almost the entire AI sector turned up
Donald Trump brought together several leading figures from the technology sector at the White House to showcase his current obsession: ‘superintelligence’. Seated around the table were Jensen Huang of Nvidia, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Dario Amodei, as well as representatives from OpenAI, AMD and Micron. Apple, however, was… absent. The US President described the meeting as a ‘ historic ’ event, but the resulting agreement amounts to nothing more than a promise of voluntary commitments, with no immediate enforcement mechanism. The participants announced commitments designed to provide greater oversight of their artificial intelligence models. These include the use of independent auditors tasked with verifying that these systems adhere to their designers’ intentions and do not inadvertently infiltrate third-party systems.
