Brando Benifei, the MEP who negotiated the AI Act on behalf of the European Parliament, is not at all satisfied with the third draft of the Code of Practice on generative AI, which is supposed to address issues relating to fundamental rights, transparency and copyright. He worries that the Commission is lightening the obligations of AI developers compared to the text of the AI Act, and calls on it to review the Code substantially before publication.
