Presidential election: Attal and Philippe follow in Macron’s footsteps on AI and culture
This is a Macronist paradox: whilst France’s cultural sector is a global leader, and ‘made in France’ artificial intelligence remains a fledgling sector with great potential, the French President and his two former Prime Ministers are giving clear priority to AI. In light of the latest announcements, there is reason to fear that culture may be the neglected child of the presidential campaign: a major economic sector… with significant influence, which is in need of fresh political impetus, but is clearly less in vogue than the race for AI.
