AI: the creative process is down to the industries, not the self-appointed guardians of the internet
The timing could hardly be worse. Whilst authors’ organisations are trying to secure the adoption of the Darcos bill on the use of protected works by AI providers, the Thélyson Orélien affair has cast further suspicion, which now weighs on the creators themselves. Samuel Fitoussi, a columnist for *Le Figaro* , admitted on Friday that he was part of the ‘collective project’ behind the ‘Balance ton Claude’ account,… which had accused the author of *C’était ça ou mourir* of having made extensive use of AI to write his novel. He explained that he had wanted to defend those who spend “hundreds ofhours ” writing their books.
