The live act wants to keep all the proceeds from its success
Whilst live events are breaking records but remain economically fragile, Ekhoscènes is making the removal of the cap on the levy allocated to the CNM a priority. This is a way of ensuring that the sector retains the proceeds of its own growth. The public has never been so keen on live performances, but those who produce the concerts are not necessarily the ones who benefit most from their success. “ Our model is… more expensive ,” sums up Malika Séguineau, managing director of Ekhoscènes: production costs are rising, negotiations with artists are becoming tougher and producers’ profitability remains low, with a net margin of 2 per cent for Ekhoscènes members.
