Germany Slashes Kulturpass Amount by Half
After intense discussions within the government, Germany is continuing to experiment with the culture pass, but with a budget cut in half, against a backdrop of reduced funding for the ministry. Germany’s Minister of State for Culture, Claudia Roth has announced that… that the amount allocated for the « Kulturpass » for 18-year-olds will be halved in 2024, to 100 euros. This decision, taken after deliberation by the budget committee, is seen as good news for culture and youth. The German cultural world had expressed its support for the scheme in an opinion piece, despite the half-tent figures.
