Spotify: the AI remix for an extra 5 euros
Spotify plans to launch a new feature in 2027 for AI-generated remixes and covers, available for an additional fee of around $5 a month, according to the Financial Times. This service will allow subscribers to transform participating tracks – for example, by changing the genre or the vocals – whilst artists and rights holders will receive royalties when these versions are streamed. Spotify also states that these… creations will link back to the original track to facilitate discovery. The announcement has, however, sparked fierce controversy.
