French report on generative AI: the creative sector is satisfied

The French cultural sector welcomes the recommendations of the Generative AI Committee’s report, which asks for the transparency of training data. They also urge the French government to be supportive of rights holders in the negotiations of the implementing acts of the future EU AI Act.

It’s a collective sigh of relief from the cultural sector, with the publication today of a statement signed by nearly 75 organizations, representing the press, music, film, audiovisual, books, photographers and visual artists. All of them – authors, producers, publishers, distributors, collective management organizations…
