Independent music: TikTok tries to divide and conquer
Following TikTok’s decision to boycott Merlin, the independents’ representative, as part of new licensing negotiations, Impala calls on the platform to reason, and UPFI urges public authorities to take up the issue.
The licensing agreement signed in 2020 between TikTok and the independents’ agent, Merlin, expires at the end of the month, but TikTok has just left the renegotiation table before discussions have even begun!
