AI Act: the code of practice finally pre-published

The European Commission has published, with some delay, the Code of practice for general-purpose AI models, raising questions about its adoption by developers, even though it is optimistic about their commitment. It should be emphasized that, for the time being, this is only a pre-publication. The European Commission and member states still have to validate the text, a process which is not expected to materialize before mid-August.

Habemus Codex! After much backtracking and criticism, the European Commission’s AI Office this morning published the « General Purpose AI Code of Practice » envisaged by the AI Act.
