Google is starting to offer payments to publishers via Gemini
Google is taking small steps towards the idea of paying publishers for content used in its AI responses, reveals the website Digiday . The web giant is discreetly testing, via Search Console, a remuneration programme presented as a pilot scheme. On paper, the aim is to reward content that contributes “significantly” to the responses generated by Gemini, AI Overviews and AI Mode. Digiday reports that Google has… approached at least dozens of publishers for its “ AI contribution pilot” .
