On Monday in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France brought together some of the cream of the global film industry to launch yet another ‘summit’, this time on cinema. This has become something of a tradition towards the end of Emmanuel Macron’s term of office. After music and AI, it is now the turn of cinema, which is also being given its own ‘summit’ organised in France. According to official sources, this ‘Lumière Summit’… brought together some 220 participants from 65 countries at the Maeght Foundation, including Hollywood studio bosses, broadcasters, streaming platforms, African and Latin American cinema operators, and even video game publishers.
