Music: the US market reaches saturation point
In this first half of 2024, the US music market is recording slight growth. The subscription streaming market accounts for 84% of revenues. The US market is losing some of its momentum. With 99 million paying accounts across all platforms and services, the US is close to saturation point. The RIAA released its figures at the end of August, and… streaming growth was just 2.7% year-on-year. This news was expected. The slowdown in growth is natural in a domestic market with over 134 million households. According to the RIAA, 2.5 million new accounts were created in one year in subscription streaming, for the first half of this year 2024. The slowdown is clear for the start of 2024.
