Last week, at the Cernobbio Economic Forum, Jordan Bardella set the tone, stating that ‘France, as I see it, must be a driving force in the roll-out of artificial intelligence, firstly by hosting the European cloud on… its soil and securing the data not only of the French but also of Europeans, and secondly by creating an ecosystem that is conducive to the roll-out of artificial intelligence . ’ The direction is therefore clearly tech-friendly: to develop rather than hold back, whilst emphasising European sovereignty.
