The French traditional right – Les Républicains – published their program for the European elections. On the menu, a lot of economics, a little innovation, and no culture.
Les Républicains published their programme for the European elections this week. It is largely a national declination of the European People’s Party’s program, which we wrote about here. But it’s also about LR taking on the protection of French interests in Brussels, making, as the program’s title says, « hear the voice of the French in Europe » while remaining a pro-European formation. In so doing, the LR explain that they are distinguishing themselves both from the European federalism sought by the current French executive, and from the passivity of the Rassemblement National: « Emmanuel Macron has not led the changes that France and Europe were waiting for. Today, he wants to go even further by creating European debts and taxes.
