The tech sector calls on elected representatives to stay the course on digital issues
Numeum notes the uncertainties born of the dissolution and subsequent lack of a majority. While digital players have retained most of their allies in the National Assembly, they also want to seek new support, and are asking the Elysée, and the future Prime Minister, to appoint a minister in charge of digital, as there are still many files to manage.
With its 2,500 members accounting for 85% of the sector’s sales, Numeum is a heavyweight in the French digital sector. As digital regulation today comes primarily from the EU, the organization also has a presence in Brussels. Following the legislative election, its members – digital services companies, software publishers, platforms and technology consulting and engineering firms – are calling on elected representatives to ensure that innovation remains at the heart of French policies, and that projects underway before the dissolution are not abandoned.
