The European Parliament’s Culture Committee tackles the big issues from the outset

The European Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Education will hold the very first meeting of its new mandate next week. On its agenda are conversations with the heads of DG EAC and DG Connect, as well as the presentation of an analysis of European policy in culture, delivered in July, in which the Parliament’s services don’t mince their words about the Council’s strategic agenda for 2024-2029, which has totally forgotten culture!

It’s back-to-school time for the European institutions twice over, as it’s both the end of the vacations and the start of a new five-year term. For the European Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Education (CULT), this autumn marks a real upheaval: Sabine Verheyen (All, EPP), who chaired the Committee from 2019 to 2024, and had been an influential member since its very beginnings in Strasbourg, is now Vice-President of the Parliament.
