Netflix plans to spend $5 billion on content in 2016, and some of that will go to video creators who became famous on the internet. This year, Netflix ordered its first two original series starring social media personalities: YouTuber Colleen Ballinger’s “Haters Back Off” and an untitled project from Vine star Cameron Dallas. It’s part of a broader strategy to offer more teen-centric and family-friendly programming on its streaming service, Netflix said.
